2013 UF Accelerated BSN Applicants!

U.S.A. Florida

Published

HiEveryone!

I am gatorguy3380, and I am planning on applying to the UF Accelerated BSNprogram beginning in 2013! I have been steadily working my way through my prerequisites and am studying for my GRE as we speak. I have been eyeing thisprogram for a while and have found that this thread is a great way to shareexpectations and successes for those pursuing entrance into this prestigiousprogram.

So it seems like everyone on here likes to know each other's "stats."So since I seem to be the originator here you go! I have a BS from FlaglerCollege in St. Augustine that I received 6 years ago. My GPA from my last 60was 3.55. I have completed Human Nutrition, Statistics, Human Growth andDevelopment, and A&P 1, all with A's. My overall college GPA is just a hairover a 3.0. I am currently in Micro and plan on taking A&P II in the springjust prior to admission. I am 32, a male, and used to be a law enforcementofficer. I feel that with a combination of my academics and my personalexperiences, with a solid GRE score (which I haven't taken yet) and stay ontrack with my pre-reqs I stand a good chance of getting in!

Just because I posted my info, there is no need to post yours. I like the ideaof meeting some of my future cohorts on this life course change and createdthis tread so that we could all find a sense of comfort in a tiny sharedcommunity! Good luck to all and I will enjoy interacting with you here!

After all my freaking out . . .

I was accepted!

This is so exciting! Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Great to hear! And anyone still waiting, don't stress too much when you open the mailbox and try to figure out how 'thick' the letter is. Acceptances are like 2 pages instead of 1 so don't freak if you don't grab this bulging envelope from your mailbox (that's what I did at first).

PsychNurse13 ! Yes, I love to dance! I have a class card that is still unused from undergrad for Pofahl Dance Studio. I am hoping I might be able to take class once a week through UF once we are in our final semester, but I am not sure how it will work with our schedule! I will message you more about it, but I was a dance major at UF for one year of my undergrad! I found that the active and challenging culture of a nursing career really parallels dancing for me! So excited to meet you all!

Sorry ddl77 if i stressed you about about the thickness of the envelope. :woot: It was only a casual obseravtion I made when I picked it up. It was literally my first thought. I was a designer in my last career so it is very possible that my training of paper stock, thickness and weight etc came into play lol it's a habit :)

Does anyone else have this new hold on their Isis?

You may not register because the College of Nursing Office for Academic and Student Affairs has placed a hold on your record. Please ensure you have met all College of Nursing semester requirements or admission requirements before contacting [email protected] to resolve this matter.

No holds, but I just turned in my intent to enroll this evening. I still have the same registration time assigned that showed up before I was technically admitted, though.

I turned mine in this morning and this evening I saw the new hold. Hope it's nothing out of the ordinary :nailbiting:

I wouldn't worry it's probably just the background check and immunizations since we're all unofficially admitted still

CON called yesterday and told me that the Office of Admissions didn't have all my transcripts especially the one showing my degree. He said I needed to take care of this right away because it is going to hold everything up for me. I sent them in November so I'm not sure what happened, but I sent in new ones last night! I turned in my letter of intent the same day that I received my admissions letter. They said they were reviewing my file to make sure I had everything.

These are my holds. "You may not register until you meet the immunization requirement. Please contact the Student Health Care Center in the Infirmary Building or call (352) 392-1161, option 2.

Kittylove, no need to worry I have that hold now too.

Okay, I just asked and it's essentially confirmation that they've received our statement of intent. It will go away once we send in our background check, immunization records, etc. :) Sorry for the scare, guys!

very good...if there are any problems along the way I'm sure they will let us know
