what job can i get before i grad lpn school?

I am in my fourth quarter of lpn school and i have a desk job that has nothing to do with my field. I plan on being either an ICU/ER/OR or Flight nurse. I was just wondering if there are any jobs that I do not know about that I could apply for that i could do just to get into the field of healthcare in general. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
Thanx

One of the best things I ever did was take my years of general office experience and get a job as a unit secretary (aka: ward clerk, unit coordinator, etc) on a hospital floor. My administrative assistant background and familiarity with healthcare as an EMT and nursing student got me right in and I learned so much. It was a great way to get my foot in the door and become familiar with orders, medications, how things work in a hospital and learn tons from the nurses and doctors. The pay is not too bad either, depending on where you live and the facility. You might even be able to get into a busy ED or ICU. I ended up on Med/surg but it was still a great place to learn.

good luck

I agree- where I live the hospitals nearby hire unit clerks for ED and OR and PACU. right now these 3 dept.'s are also looking for ed tech-ED unit clerk-OR unit clerk-OR "assistant". The most training any of these require is a CNA. The OR assistant thing is new- just a way to get CNA's into surgery unit, because RN and even scrub techs are making good money, and they want cheaper help.

Being a dispatcher for a flight service might be another option. You wouldn't get any hands-on patient care experience, but you would probably meet a lot of aeromedical personnel and learn more about exactly what they do on a day-to-day basis.
