one more nclex question...

Thanx for the advice guys....but I just have one more question. I heard from one of my instructors that the scoring process for the nclex is going up slightly, in other words, you will have to score higher and that they are eliminating alot of the peds and ob questions and putting more jigh acuity med/surg questions when they make the changes to the test in april 2004!!! Has anyone else heard this who has not taken the test yet???

YUP!

Its true.

yep! My nclex, which I just took, was mostly Med/surg and priority. The m/s questions were VERY specific. I had NO delegation, only 3 ob and 1 peds question. So, it has already begun!

So, with them changing the format of the nclex, is studying with Kaplan, or Saunders, or Lippincott sufficient? Or does anyone know if there will be new study materials in the near future?

In my humble opinion, you either know the stuff or you don't... format shouldn't be the deciding factor on whether or not you pass. You've still got 265 questions (or whatever) to pass. I personally plan on studying with the "old" Saunders & Kaplan & other materials to get used to the types of questions and rationales, and then I'll take the test without worrying too much about it. Look for me as a Graduate Nurse in about a year! =)

Yes this is true. Why didn't your instructor inform you sooner. My instructor told us about it in 2003. The new format is supposed to start 1 April 2004.

jigh

What does this mean, please?
