Hello!

I'm new here, and I have a question! I will be graduation in may with my BSN, and I am wondering what types of jobs (BESIDES hospital) are available to new grads? I have worked in a hospital for 2 years as a tech, and its just not for me. I have previous experience with people with mental disabilities, nursing homes, and med-surg hospital. Any suggestions are welcome--I'm just kind of stuck and I need to start applying for jobs soon!!

Thanks ^_^

You could probably look at clinics within hospitals or apply at local clinics. Also a lot of psychiatric and specialty institutes will need nurses for outpatient care, and it is not typical bedside nursing. Good luck!

It won't be easy if you have no previous healthcare administration experience, but it's possible. You may be able to find something in public health, quality improvement, or insurance.

Good luck!

a clinic would be a good idea. I was acutally also thinking about going into psych nursing becasue it is a less stressful environment. I've also always wanted to do home care--do they ever hire new grads into home care (I have 2 years of expierience in a lot of basic nursing cares like foleys, IVs, colosomys...etc)?
