LA county hospitals

Anyone been hired by a LA county hospital recently (LAC+USC, harbor ucla, oliveview, rancho los amigos)? I was hired in the beginning of October and did my livescan and haven't heard back. When I call nursing recruitment, they say my livescan has cleared and they're waiting for my paperwork to be signed and returned and that there are others still waiting as well. This wait is making me anxious?! Ahhh

County is notorious for taking a long time.l with the hiring process. Have patience and stay on top of them. I would suggest calling to check the status every other week or so. Good luck!

Thanks babeinboots, I've been trying not to call over and over... I've been checking about every two weeks. I won't be making it to the December orientation and they're hoping for the January one. Really starting to think I might be pushed off even farther down the calendar. :(

It can definitely be frustrating waiting on them. The only reason I say to call every other week or so is because I didn't and my paperwork was complete and just sitting on the desk of the person who gives the ok to give an orientation date. She was never informed that my paperwork was complete and submitted to her so I "fell through the cracks" for over almost 2 months before I got in contact with her. I actually started applying to other jobs because I was getting so impatient. I ended up getting a job offer at another hospital by the time they called me with an orientation start date. I still went to orientation but ended up taking the job at the other facility. Despite the ridiculously long hiring process, the County hospitals are great places to work. Hang in there, it will be worth it!

TWO MONTHS í ½í¸± wowww, sorry to hear that. I finally got the physical email - 11 long weeks later. I didn't want to search for other jobs because I was more than satisfied with the one county offered me as a new grad but then I started having my doubts throughout the hiring process just because of how much time it's been taking. I'm doing employee health clearance then hopefully getting my start date. I'll stay on top of them after this, thanks for the advice!
