I took my boards yesterday! HELP!!!

I took my boards yesterday. I have to wait "two business days" even though the lady said to start checking yesterday afternoon. My grade still isn't posted. I am freaking out! I had 265 questions. I was an above average B student in nursing school but this test is making me wonder how I even passed nursing? I know everyone feels this way. Just needing some reassurance or pep- talk from others that have passed with 265!!! Or passed with anything!

My test was a mixture of OB,pych,TB,cane stuff,a few med questions but no drug calculation,medical/surg type stuff. I had a lot of priority, which patient should have a multidisiplinary conference,etc, and many delegation questions. Sorry this is so long!!! Thanks for any input!

I know just how you feel, scared to death! But I think if you came out of there feeling like you didn't get the answers, it's a good sign. That's just how I felt. I think that means you are in higher level questions. Also not getting any drug calculations is a good sign. Those are actuallly very easy questions if you think about it. As one of my teachers said, you could teach a 10 yr old to do those, they could get the numbers right, but they wouldn't understand what they are doing. There is only one straightforward right answer on those, so are much easier than the ones that it always seems you come down to two that could be right. That's what always happened to me! But, I bet you did pass, and the time now is tough, but will pass. So good luck and hang in there!

Congrats! What an awful rite of passage we have to go through, but it does pass! Hurray! I just heard yesterday myself and am still on cloud nine! What a hugmongous load off, huh!

But congratulations, you deserve it! Go and enjoy whatever you wish!

Hello all,

I am looking forward to the day that seems it will never come. I am taking NCLEX on Wednesday (1/21) and hear I can access my results two business days later. Does this mean Friday or will I have to wait for Monday?

Any last minute tips would be appreciated as well!!

I took my test on Wed too, and I was able to get my results at 930am Friday. I don't really have any advice. I hadn't looked at any study guides or anything since I graduated in December. My program required us to pass a exit exam similar to boards. IF we didn't pass we had to repeat the last nursing classes. So we were preparing for it like a month or so in advance. I did use a Kaplan CD with several tests on it a couple of days before I took boards. I got the CD from the Kaplan review at my school. GOOD LUCK!! :)

Thanks! That is music to my ears - there would be no living with me if I had to wait through the weekend to find out if I passed. It is amazing that such a random exam could take up so much of my life, thoughts, dreams, and conversations. All the people around me are so supportive, but I know they can't wait until it is all over.
