What setting? What I did to prepare was to go ahead and think about my answers to the usual questions: What made you go into nursing, why do you want to work here, what is your best asset, what can you improve on, how have you handled conflict with a coworker or manager in the past, etc. I would also look up a little bit about the hospital or facility and try to incorporate their mission statement or latest achievements into the answer about why you want to work there. However, be honest when it comes to that as well, because otherwise I think it can come out trite and fake. If you get nervous and your voice is shaky or you're talking too fast at first (a problem I have) just remember to take a few deep breaths and pretend you're talking to someone you know about why you would really do a great job if given the opportunity you're applying for. Hope this helps! Oh, and write down a list of questions you want to ask if the info is not covered in the interview (because nerves will make your mind go blank), such as how long will your orientation be, what is the nurse to patient ratio, what shift are they currently hiring for, how will your performance be evaluated, etc. It always looks better to have a few questions so you seem more thoughtful and organized.
