I've been trying to call folks, but I know some of you post/read here, so I wanted to share some info I learned yesterday.

You're probably wondering why you don't have your GN permit yet...maybe even freaking out a little. Apparently, the BON has not yet recieved our paperwork from the school. I spoke with someone at the school yesterday (1/2) and they stated it had not been sent out yet, but that it was being overnighted to Austin, supposedly last night. Yeah, they said they were sending it out after grades posted (the Friday after pinning), but I guess they didn't make it a priority.

I would suggest that those of you that are starting internships this month (mine starts Monday!), to consider letting your HR department know about the delay. My hospital is working with us, and rearraging classes. I have no idea how other facilities are handling it. I do know several friends who's internships may be in jeopardy due to this situation. :angryfire

As I stated, I did get my info from one of the secretaries at the nursing department. Please feel free to call the school if you have any questions...I know I spent all day on the phone with them yesterday. Oh yeah, from what info I have gathered, it will supposedly take an additional two weeks to get our GN permits once Austin gets the paperwork. Seriously.

I am so not happy. But I wanted to let as many folks as possibly know what the delay is.

Yeah, that was what I heard when I spoke with the nursing secretary early yesterday morning (1/2). I've been pretty lucky because the hospital I am interning at is letting me attend orientation since that does not involve direct patient care, so that buys me some time. But after that, I don't know what they are going to do with me. I wonder what happened that the ball dropped on our paperwork... Did someone in our nursing department go on vacation? Anyways, I definitely share your frustration there and I hope everything turns out ok for all of us grads.

As an updated, I called the board today and they said they received our affidavits today! :) However, it will be 1-10 business days before they approve us. Just FYI.

I got mine today via email. One of my firends got hers emailed about two hours before mine. We're holding off on scheduling the test for another friend who is still waiting.

Hope you get yours soon! Good skill (I don't believe in luck!)!
