Accepting New Grads in N.C.?

I was wondering if there are any hospitals that will hire new grads in Charlotte, NC? I've been looking in SC but with no luck! Or if there are any other hospitals in NC that are accepting new grads? :nurse:

Meg, I have been trying NC too but no luck so far. I was introduced to a nurse manager AND I sent in my resume for her floor and I have not heard from her since. Go figure!

ugh, it's sooo frustrating too. I went in for a job interview at Palmetto Health in Columbia and was supposed to be called back, but I've had no response from them at all. :confused: Definitely mystified...

Hi Meg,

I am from Raleigh, NC but went to nursing school in VA. When I went back to NC and started job searching, I could not get a single interview. I literally applied to every hospital in the state. I don't know where you went to nursing school, but I feel like the NC hospitals are taking care of their own graduates first (new grads who went to UNC, Duke, ECU ... ). I finally focused my attention on job hunting in VA, and within a week, I had 2 interviews! As a new grad, it might be wise to consider applying to hospitals in the state you went to school in. Thanks NrsKate! Yeah I've found that I've had much better luck here in Columbia, SC because I went to USC. I've had two interviews, but no luck anywhere else. Just hoping and praying that one of these works out!
