Transitions Test

Nursing Students Excelsior

Published

I took the transitions test this morning. If anyone is wanting to know what to expect, know this: the majority of my test was SELECT ALL THAT APPLY, I had one question where I had to put the steps in order. I had a LOT of theory questions, however not a single Nightingale question. I had a lot of "centralized" "decentralized" management questions. The questions are worded a little strange. I had to re-read a lot of the questions. I had about 7 different questions with intrapersonal, interpersonal, and situational questions so be sure to know them. Basically everything I really studied and memorized was not on the test. The stuff I just skimmed over was the bulk of my test. When I got to question 63, I knew I had failed. Then I started getting some questions from the practice exams. Not many from the practice exams were on this one. I passed it with a "C." I was very disappointed/happy in myself. I seriously thought I bombed the test. On to Health Safety. I now know how to study for theses exams!

Thanks for the info as I am taking this exam tomorrow, yikes! Good luck on the next exam!

I got a C too. It was harder than I expected!

You still passed. Health safety was easier however I over thought the questions and changed some of my answers. I made a C on it too. Oh well, I will make an A on the next one.

What do you call a nurse with a "C" average? A nurse. Take it, and learn from it, we can't beat ourselves up too much. I failed Transitions the first time I took it in January 2013, now I am back from deployment and have only taken 1 test between then and now. I think the failing of this test really got me down. I am now scraping myself up and going to lock myself away in my tower (or I will settle for my quaint office) and study my butt off. I need to get my life together, and I can't be afraid to fail.

Congrats on passing, one test down!

Thanks ladies! You're right about keep trying and not letting it get you down :) Good luck everyone!
