Previous traditional nursing student

Hi all, I am at the last stage of this program, currently preparing for the CPNE. I started nursing school at a traditional school and completed one year, however, while completing my third semester, I got into a car accident and had to take time off from the program. I couldn't return to finish at the School bc there were no longer going to be offering the ADN program when I would be ready to return. My sister in law told me about this school so I applied an was accepted based on the fact that I already completed half my clinical requirements from the traditional school and did not fail out. (EC doesn't except students from traditional school who fail and use this as a last resort). This was a blessing for me to be able to continue on with my degree. I see so many LPNs, Medics,resp therapist, etc. but haven't come across others like myself who are here from traditional nursing school. Is any one else out there? Lol

You're not the only one. Maybe they are somewhat limited, with the changes that EC has made in recent years. But when I did my LPN-RN bridge with EC, there were quite a few that I knew of personally, well as personally as can get through online interaction. You might 'meet' them faster if you post this question on EC's discussion boards. Good luck with your CPNE!!

Thanks for your response. I know of one other student who failed out of Traditional nursing school and was able to sign up bf the change, but haven't encountered anyone else, so I was curious. Thanks also for your well wishes. I can't wait to take the big beast and finish school. Feels so close yet so far.

Definitely know the feeling.....I'm experiencing something similar with the BSN with them. A few weeks in this course here; a few weeks in that course there; the capstone and then I'm done! But the actual time amounts to a WHOLE YEAR! I am soooo over being in school already!

Trust me you ain't the only one...after a while it is hard to keep the right outlook. Nursing school is like Chinese water torture. The strong willed can take it for a certain amount of time but there is a limit. ha ha
