  1. Thank you Kooky for your response. I haven't started as yet. I have 8 more days at my old job.
  2. Thank you very much! It definitely does give me a better prospective on what I'm going to be getting myself into. I intend to learn as much as I can and hopefully gain a passion for it. Thanks again.
  3. I agree, that is very low for a NY new grad RN. If you have your BSN, then a call back is soon to be expected. If you have ADN, it could be more difficult. Try health care centers. Just look up the names of the health care center and contact HR or the nursing director. Sometimes the health centers don't even post the positions online. My job does not post online. It's all word of mouth. Nurses are always leaving. So, I say if you can, wait and keep applying.
  4. Hi all. I just recently got hired to my first hospital position working in the Behavioral health emergency department. I am excited and nervous. I have no experience as a psy nurse or emergency room nursing. Any pointers on what to expect would be truly appreciated. Thanks.
  5. Hi, I now see that. I am a RN. This is the first time I initiated a post and some how, it was done in this forum. Lol. Thanks for the comments everyone.
  6. Thanks for the insight. I will take your advice into consideration.
  7. Hi Jules, thanks for the response. I worked as a nurse supervisor in a family health clinic. Lots of admin work as well. I really wanted bedside to get away from the admin. Work. My whole interview and hiring process was a bit strange. I first though it was for medical emergency room. When HR called and said I was accepted for the Behavioral health job, I was confused. Found out it was CPEP. It is just too had to get into a hospital without hospital experience where I live. Been trying for 2 years. So I accepted the offer.

  9. Boog is correct, as of two years ago, EC does not accept students who have flunked out of a traditional nursing school.
  10. Hi all, I am at the last stage of this program, currently preparing for the CPNE. I started nursing school at a traditional school and completed one year, however, while completing my third semester, I got into a car accident and had to take time off from the program. I couldn't return to finish at the School bc there were no longer going to be offering the ADN program when I would be ready to return. My sister in law told me about this school so I applied an was accepted based on the fact that I already completed half my clinical requirements from the traditional school and did not fail out. (EC doesn't except students from traditional school who fail and use this as a last resort). This was a blessing for me to be able to continue on with my degree. I see so many LPNs, Medics, resp therapist, etc. but haven't come across others like myself who are here from traditional nursing school. Is any one else out there? Lol
