Just purchased the study guide 101 for A&P and wondering what's the best way to prepare for this exam with this guide? Read from page one to 1 thousand... Or focus on certain chapters. So confused on how to do this..

Use the index it has all the sections listed and the review is listed in the 'addition resources'.

Took A&P and Micro exams. Used studygroup101 notes for both. Got a "B" on both exams. I would suggest looking over the content guides for the exams that are found on the Excelsior website and start with the areas that comprise the largest components of the tests. After you have done this, register for the exams so that you can register for the practice tests. Take practice test "A" and see how you do - make sure you understand the rationales. Do additional studying in areas of weakness and review info you are certain of. Take practice test "B" when you think you are getting closer to scheduling the actual exam, but give yourself enough time to review the material before the exam. You have 6 months to take actual exams after you have registered or them, but only 3 months for the practice exams before they (practice exams) expire. Keep this in mind when registering for practice exams.

I would take one of the practice exams soon. It really zeroed in my focus of study. I was wasting a lot of time on things that didn't matter much prior to the exam. I felt like the Endocrine system was the most focused because it crosses over with all the other systems as well. I would know ALL of the hormones on the content guide, what body changes cause those hormones to be produced and what actions the other systems take when those hormones are released. If you look at some of my other posts I went into some more detail.

Cram.com has some really good flashcard sets as well. Just type in the name of the system you are focusing on.
