Excelsior exams, where do you take them

Hi, sorry if this seems to be a stupid question, but I'm trying to get my ducks in line with my education without wasting any more time. Excelsior seems like a good choice for me but where exactly do you take all of the exams?

Thank you! I'm not enrolled with the school just yet so I'm not quite sure what that means yet lol, but I will definitely keep this thread. I have read all of the information from their website but I still have a lot of questions. Are the advisors friendly, helpful and patient enough to answer my questions?

I've had good experiences with the advisors, both via phone and message center (which you'll have access to once you create a MyExcelsior account). They are human though... I'm sure the patience might wear thin if the answers are readily available and right in front of you on the website. ;)

Once you sign up and pay for an exam, you have six months to schedule/take it. You can study for it well before registering for the exam itself if concerned. Just be careful when late September/October rolls around, as any changes to recommended/required textbooks and such usually apply then. I found that out first hand with Reproduction last year when the textbook was changed. You'll see the updated changes in the Content Guide for each exam.

You can also linger in the Academic Discussion Boards on the Excelsior website (accessed under the Communities tab of your MyExcelsior account) for each exam. And then, there's this place (grin).

I'm at the end of my excelsior experience so I will let you know how I did it. First regisrter for exam and pay for it with Excelsior College then go to a test center, like PearsonVue and take the test on a computer. Some course/tests can be taken in any order, while others are in a sequience.

Above all read and read again all the things that they(Excelsior) will require of you to graduate. Clinical is a PASS or FAIL so you must be 100% their way and they do not teach. Therefore you must deciepher all that is required of you by their standards. I hope this helps good luck!

Wow thanks for the info. How long did you generally give yourself to study before you took an exam? Where do you do the clinicals?

Hey I realized you did the LPN to RN program. I finish the excelsior exam but I didn't do the practical as yet. Any suggestions on what to prepare for? any tips/advices?
