Excelsior College Paramedic to RN Bridging Program

Nursing Students Excelsior

Are there any current students doing the Paramedic to RN Bridging Program through Excelsior College? I would love to hear about your experience so far. I am in NC and am ready to apply to Excelsior. TCN almost had me roped in but I read too much negativity about them and their costs. Everyone please share your experiences with Excelsior with me. Thx so much!!!

If anyone could please give me some information from their experience at Excelsior. I am very confused as to what the difference is between Excelsior and TCN. I was told that there is the independent study option and the online class option that could have a waiting list. Is either one better? Also my concern is, I've heard that Excelsior is not recognized by hospitals for hiring and that if I wanted to go beyond a BSN and transfer to another college for a masters or higher that the classes at Excelsior do not transfer. Can anyone please give me some input?

TCN is an expensive third party publishing company that is neither affiliated with or recommended by Excelsior regardless what their sales people /"educational advisors" may claim. The FTC is investigating TCN for deceptive sales tactics.

Hello,

I'm a paramedic in MA and considering the bridge program to RN through Excelsior. I currently have an associates degree and wondering if anyone is familiar with the transfer of credits into the excelsior program?

Thanks!

I did the program as a paramedic with an Associates degree (two, actually). My previous degrees covered most of the general ed stuff, but I did have to obtain credits in lifespan developmental psych, sociology, micro, and A&P (my paramedic A&P didn't have a lab so it wasn't sufficient). If you have the appropriate sciences that are less than five years old, they might transfer in. The only way to know for sure is to apply and have transcripts sent. Good luck!

Hi, I'm Ty!

Can I pick anyone's brain about the clinical requirements? Is there just a single weekend at the clinical and cpne? Are there a bunch of people there or just a few or just you? What is it like? Anyone NOT make it through passing? Is it testing or hands on training then a test?

Thanks a million!

-Ty
