Independent Nurse Contactor
- 1Apr 13, '08 by StayceHi all.
I have been a nurse for 8 years. I am currently an employee at a local hospital in NY. I have recently taken interest in something called Indepent nurse contractor. I am tired og being an employee. I want to be my own boss, I want to make more money, I want to be in control of my schedule. Is there anyone out there who can help me? I am looking for some type of manual or information to get me started. I just do not know where to begin.

My children are older now and im ready to make a move. I have explored many different options. im just truing to find the right one. i like flexibility. ive work flexible hours my whole nursing career. i recently focused on the indepentent contractor. i like home care. i like surgical care. i like acute care. i like home infusion care. i like wound care. can anyone tell me if as an independent contractor whether i have to focus on one specialty? if not, would this be too overwhelming? if not should i seek certification in any of these areas?
