Attempting to prevent the destruction that occurs to the body when there is misalignment between aspects of the feet, I have a special set of inserts and shoes to prevent over pronation of the foot and increase arch support.

My question is what type of shoes are permitted at COT as well as when you are working at the hospitals/clinics (I have seen a partial answer to this somewhere on here)? Can you use inserts (hopefully they don't care what is inside your shoes)? Do you have to buy military shoes?

The last time I ran I had to quit after 5 minutes because my feet hurt so much. I also have had little success preventing painful feet post working only 8 hours.

Any type of running shoe is allowed that I know of. You can wear inserts, and pretty much any shoe you like while in scrubs (it should be closed toe but otherwise pretty much anything goes). You will have to wear USAF approved shoes while in uniform.

Wtb's right - any running shoe as long as it's not neon pink will be fine. I wear those new Sketchers to work and sometimes I wear my Danskos.

You'll be able to buy whatever boots that your inserts will fit (as long as they're within regs, of course) and you'll have a choice of low quarters (the shoes you wear with your blues). The low quarters have a LOT of arch support in them if you buy the right ones.

I don't think avoiding pink will be a problem lol...

You're a nut, adam - you know what I mean - LOL... :)

Although I'd like to see that.
