New Residency at Children's National

Specialties Emergency

Hi,

Im going to be starting a new job at Children's National in DC and I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how much a new nurse makes when shift differentials are included.

The hourly rate is 26.50 and the annual salary is definitely low compared to other hospitals. I'm just trying to figure out how much an average nurse makes at Children's when shift differentials are included.

Help anyone?

I used to work in the PICU there. The pay was okay but compared to the high cost of living in DC or Arlington, it's not much. I ultimately left there and moved back to NJ where I grew up. It's a great hospital and I saw things over there that I probably won't see again. The salary might be considered lower than other big hospitals but truthfully a good amount of children's hospitals pay less, but you end up doing it because you love it.

I guess I don't understand your question.

You want to know what other nurses make at that hospital?

Or what you would make with your

differentials?

If you work 3(12)

36hrs a week

@ 26.50

$954x 52(week a year)

$49,608 as your base pay

Now figure your differentials add that in.

Then figure you taxes 😳

And subtract them😭

Hey! how do you like working there? I'm going to be interviewing there for the PICU and am wondering how the nursing culture is there. Also, 26.50 seems low. Is this for RN-I position?
