Hi all!! Hopefully i picked the right thread

Im angelica and im looking for some advice/ words of encouragement for my mom that recently made her dream of becoming a RN a reality! She currently works in the ER and has been on the job for 1 month. (Shes doing training that lasts 6 months) Unfortunately i do see her stressing out that "she may fail" and i do want to help in anyway i can to alleviate that.

So for all those ER nurses out there if i may ask two questions! how can i help my mom distress from a long days work? Or how you distress! And if anyone can share stories of how they felt when they started in the ER it would be much appreciated!

Just to give you a bit of different kind of advice ... please consider changing your screen picture and real name to something more anonymous. All kinds of people read this site and you may not realize that someone might give you bad advice or they might connect you and your Mom.

It is a nice gesture that you're so concerned about her well-being. You're a good kid!!!

Lots of snugly hugs. My kids (middle schoolers) are my best support. I will come home after a particularly sad night and the kids will snuggle with me and tell me about how they brag about me at school.

Its warm and healing and refreshes me like you wouldn't believe.

tell her she saves lives and you are proud of her. Keep pushing through it. Takes "at least" 6 months to START to feel comfortable, so hang in there.

You are an amazing kid for wanting to help your mom! The hugs I get from my kids when I come home make me feel amazing. If you feel up to giving a quick shoulder rub that's great. Or maybe learn to cook a quick meal so she doesn't have to, that also goes for picking up the house... all of these things are helpful. Everyone deals with stress differently, if she likes to sing/dance/cook/worship/run, help her to find the time to do the things that help her decompress. Good luck to your mom, and you!
