Can anyone tell me more about the role of a ER Nurse Auditor/Trauma Registrar?

I am looking at nursing jobs to apply for online. I came across one titled "ER Nurse Auditor/Trauma Registrar". I googled it and search for it online and only came across one indepth article. I have contacted someone to see if I can get a description of the job, but no reply. I believe it means someone who works in the ER and collects data on each patient such as type of emergency, age, and outcome. Am I correct? Is it somewhat similar to case management? Trauma Registrar's primary responsibility is to assure that complete and accurate data is collected and maintained for all trauma patients diagnosed and/or treated at trauma centers.

A Trauma Registrar must work with all trauma-related departments within the system to ensure complete inclusion of all appropriate patients Identifies and codes diagnoses and procedures from information documented in Medical Records according to ICD-9 and CPT-4 guidelines, including trauma modifications. Performs as Coder II with all trauma coding for Trauma Reimbursement purposes. The Trauma Registrar also assists in the daily operations of the Trauma Department, as directed by the Practice Operations Manage, in order to maintain 'teamwork' goals and productivity goals. Attendance at the monthly Trauma Multidisciplinary Conference, supply reordering and preparation of meeting minutes.

Nurse auditor Performs patient chart audits, including insurance defense audits, patient request, new program, special focus audits, and others.

Chairs the Chart Audit Committee and reports results to the Ethics & Compliance Committee of the hospital. Supports all aspects of chart auditing, complete and partial audits, working between the various departments involved to effect change and improve process.
