DNP vs post masters certificate

Hi everyone. I am new to this site and I have a dilemma for which I am seeking input. I have been an ARNP for 16 years and I recently applied to and was accepted in a DNP program at a local university with both online and on campus classes. Here is the dilemma. I am now second guessing that decision because my desire is nursing education. I recently found a post masters certificate in nursing education which seems doable in terms of time to completion (I am paying for it myself) and the fact that it is mostly online with the exception of the practicum portion. Any thoughts?

Most teaching positions are now requiring a terminal degree. A post-master's certificate is not a terminal degree. I'd stick with the DNP if you want to teach- it opens a LOT more doors down the road. There are DNPs specifically designed for educator roles- such as the one at Touro Nevada. It's 100% online as well.

I agree with the previous posters. The institution I teach at doesn't really value the MSN.Ed or a post masters in nursing education as much as the terminal degree. Maybe other institutions will voice a different opinion.
