We had patients from Laos, Cambodia, Mexico, etc etc and we were not provided with translators. When asked I was told to call a family member. Isn't this a hippa violation? Shouldn't the company be responsible for providing translators? I was told the service was too expensive. That,in my opinion, is unacceptable.

- Mar 7, '12 by traumaRUsHmm - we have pts from Mexico and I have one deaf pt. The big company here does not provide translators though I have the option of using the translator line for Spanish.
In my area, there are few to no sign language interpreters.
