All dialysis nurses...

  1. Can all the dialysis nurses tell me what companies you currently work for and what you think of the company overall. You can include any previous companies that you worked at. I am just interested in comparing all the choices available. Thanks so much!

I used to work for gambro and really liked it, davita has since taken over and now I'm not so sure. They took away the contribution to the 401k and subsituted it with "profit" sharing. don't get me started on that! they really push for numbers, and look for administrators with business vs nursing degrees.

I work for Davita and I've been with them for 7 months with an acute program. I love it! I think Davita is a great company and we're treated very well. My boss is fantastic and I think I'll be staying with this company for a long time to come.

I work for Davita and LOVE it. At least the clinic I am at. Our FA is a very experienced RN and the PCT's have been great to work with. The training I have recieved has been extensive and they have allowed me to self pace my entire orientation thus far. I'm 9 weeks in and on my way this morning to another out of town training day which I enjoy. It all comes down to your administrators. Look at thier turn over rate in teammates. For the clinic I am at most have been there more than 8-9 years and some have been there almost 20.

I have been with DCI of Mid-Missouri for nearly 6 months now. I'm an RN, and my training will be finally ending the first week in May with them setting me loose as charge nurse. What you're saying about Davita is similar to what you will find at DCI. It is a wonderful company, and many nurses have been working for our company for 10-20 years. I'm wondering if it's has something to do with dialysis being such a "special" area of nursing. Maybe it's because dialysis is all what we do, so we are able to focus on our job much more and become very good at what we do. Working with confident nurses who know their job very well and are always willing to do a job well-done really makes a difference.
