turned down

Has anyone ever been turned down by corrections.I applied 5 months ago and just found out that most likley i wont get the job.They wont tell me much about who gave a bad reference, other than it was an employer.

Corrections are known to turn down applicants if they don't like what the credit report says..........

I'm not interested in corrections, but I personally have a problem with this. My credit is not my employer's business. I know some people believe this is an indicator of how responsible a person is, but this is not necessarily true. What decisions people make financially could be based on a multitude of things...

You are quite right and I agree......except in corrections the possibility of you being compromised is a very real problem(especially if there is a lot of debt)......it's amazing the amount of information the inmates can get on the employees....this can be done by just talking, listening, or the freedom of information act.....if they find your 'achilles heel', (maybe debt that's not your fault) you might be offered a deal you can't refuse......if the employee takes this offer(whatever it may be) they are now compromised, personally and professionally.....it does not make for a safe work enviornment.........
