U.S.A. Connecticut

ooops... The other one had 2011 instead of 2012... let's try this again:

Just thought I would start a new thread for the current application cycle. Questions... stats... rumors... etc!

My question is... for those applying this cycle, how did you do on the TEAS V? Since this is the first year they are using this test, it would be nice to see how everyone is doing.

(Please don't post TEAS 3 or TEAS 4 results, as the scores are NOT comparable with the TEAS V.)

I know what you mean. I feel like my life is on hold until I know whether I got in or not. I feel like I can't make plans until I find out if I will be in school or not. I am trying not to become obsessed with knowing but at this point I don't think that I can help it. I am just glad that we won't have to wait too much longer although I think I will still be insane by then! LOL

has anyone heard anything? I was doing okay for awhile, I think these next 2-4 weeks will probably be the worst. UGH! I'm super busy as it is, and I still constantly think about it, so Im not sure theres much I can do, hahaha.

Hi All,

I heard letters will go out April 9th.... I emailed someone in admissions at Northwestern Comm College.

So here's a story and I would love to hear if other people are experiencing this or did last year. I went to my Micro class last night and we had our second exam. A few of the people in my class were talking about getting letters from capital stating that they were missing some of the requirements. I spoke to the girl next to me and she had a pre-req that she took at TRCC and brought the transcripts to Capital before the deadline. They are now telling her that she is missing this admission requirement. So she's driving down to TRCC and physically getting the transcript to bring it to CCC by Monday. Because my pre-reqs from ECSU hadn't been listed as met on mycommnet, I've been nervous and made sure to check my mail last night. Behold! A letter from CCC stating that I'm ineligible for a seat in the nursing program due to unsatisfied admission requirements which were on my ECSU transcript, received by the college in January (the date is on mycommnet as well). It also states that if this is in error, I need to provide documentation and a letter requesting review by Monday. What the hell? I worked hard on the pre-reqs, got everything in on time, and now I have to jump through hoops because they didn't check my transcripts for transfered pre-reqs?? Seriously! I emailed the woman who sent the letter and let her know I will be by her office Thursday with documentation and a letter requesting review, but if this can be resolved by simply review the transcripts they already have on file, let me know. Seriously!!! So fustrating!! :banghead:

I totally agree that my life is on hold until i find out if i will be accepted or not. So i called nvcc and shamelessly asked a few questions lol, so they said about 350 people applied and they arent sure yet how many will be accepted. But if you havent recieved a letter yet from the college its a good thing since it means all requirements are met. Called my student loan company to find out how in-school deferment works. Nvcc is a member of the national clearinghouse which means it is their responsibility to send proof of enrollment to my loan provider. Anyone know what steps i have to take to get them to do that and when. After i am enrolled or once school has started? A little lost there. Also when the fafsa deadline is? And when should i fill out the fafsa, im guessing after i get the letter or after i redgister for classes?

Aww, that sucks really bad. We work so hard to get to this point and it feels like the ones that are suppose to have everything straight just don't care. I applied to NVCC and I had an issue with a transcript that i thought they had, they said they didn't have it, so I called my old school and had them send another one. This was in Dec, so in Jan when the stats were posted on commnet everything was met except for that darn transcript. I know the email that was sent out said not to contact the school if something does not show met yet(which I totally do not understand, this is all of our hard work, time, and money at stake here) so i emailed the head nursing admissions(she is a whole other story:madface:) to ask if they have it. Her five word response was 'We do not have it'. How helpful is that?? So I called my old school back and had them send the school another one and send me one, so if they claim they didn't get it again, I was going to hand deliver it. Lo and behold on the same day that the admissions lady told me "they did not have it", commnet said it was met. What the?!?! Although I have taken all of my prereqs at cc and I've had some really great teachers, this kind of crap is why I decided to apply to other nursing schools. I really hope that you get everything straightened out and it all works out for you. Hopefully the nursing school is a little more organized

From my experience at CCC, they take their time in doing so. This semester it took until mid-Feb to get it deferred. Also, depending on your loan company, you may have to submit payments when you aren't in school (summer and winter months). I believe fafsa is due no later than July 1st. But you can do it sooner. In my opinion, the sooner the better, because last year I didn't recieve the funds until almost October and because of the schools payment deadlines, I had to pay for my classes before I was able to receive the financial aid, or my loan. Good luck!

Motosteph, you called and someone actually answered? That's a miracle in itself, lol. I'm surprised only 350 applied. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they usually accept 110-120 students, so the odds sound pretty good:specs: I wish you good luck and hang in there, not much waiting left to do:)

Did that happen last year or this year? CCC is requiring us to write a letter requesting a review if we think it's in error. Ugh. I hope the nursing school is more organized as well. I can't go through 2 years of them not having their stuff straightened out! :uhoh3:

It was this year. I can't believe they are making you write a letter when it is obviously their error, not yours. I hope it gets straightened out.

Did your Commnet have a message at the top saying everything was met? What a drag, and why would they send you the letter so late on top of it. I'm sorry, but 4 working days to handle that situation is not nearly enough time. I really hope you get it straightened out, thats terrible!

When you guys get in, make copies if your physical and immunization records before you turn them in. They lose that stuff too.
