Below 3.0 GPA -

U.S.A. Colorado

I have B.S in Biology but my GPA is 2.78 - even if I take all of the prereqs and get A's the GPA won't be quite a 3.0. Does anyone have any suggestions or feedback for me?

I wouldn't worry too much about your GPA unless you are planning on applying to any of the BSN programs (Regis, CU, etc.). The community colleges and ADN programs are usually much less strict about GPAs; as long as you have a C or better in all your classes you should be fine. Regardless of where you apply, though, I would recommend that you beef up any volunteer or work experience. A lot of the schools don't care about your grades so much as they want to know that they are bringing in a student who has shown that they have desire and motivation to go into the career.

I second what tlackey said. As long as you aren't applying to Regis or CU, you should be fine. In fact, at the information session I attended at CU, there was a gentleman in the audience that had the same problem. They flat out told him that it would be best that he didn't apply. So, he got up and left.

The community colleges are will you'll probably have to apply with a less than 3.0 GPA. The only bad thing is the 2-3 year waits at some of them.

Good luck on whatever you decide.
