Thinking about home health aid

Nursing Students CNA/MA

I am currently a college student. Any of you work in home health care Can you pick your hours you work?? That is the main issue is i need different hours for almost everyday and i am worried about finding a employer who will work with me!

How do you like or dislike being a home heath aid?

Hours can often be arranged with the client and will be ok with the employing agency as long as the tasks are being completed for which you are hired and the authorized hours are being provided.

I worked home health for about 5 months. The pros is that you can provide a lot of care since its just one client. Also, if they tend to sleep a lot you might be able to study a bit. The cons: your client or agency may expect you to be available at their beck and call. And it can be pretty boring too so yea lol.

I to am debating about going into home health care. Where I'm at there are agencies like Around the Clock Nursing, Bayada Nurses and Nurse Finders. They always seem to need CNAs/HHAs and say that the hours are really flexible however nothing is mentioned of the pay and I need to make at least $10/hr.

I know my grandmother has a HHA that comes for just 6 hours a week and she works for Aaron Healthcare but she said she only gets paid $8/hr which I feel is pretty crappy.

Has anyone worked with these agencies and do you know if they pay well?
