Online CNA course?

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Published

I am currently a pre-nursing student and I am looking for employment. I know that once I start clinicals in nursing school I can get a job as a CNA, but where I am applying to you have to apply a year in advance. That would mean at least a year and a half before I could get a job as a CNA. Can you take an online course (I saw one for a/b $700.)? I'm only asking about online because I also have a full time schedule with my classes. I also noticed that employers are looking for state registered CNAs, does that mean that you could take an online course, and then register with your particular state?? I'm just trying to get to work in a hospital setting to start getting experience.

Thanks!

CNA is an actual state certificate that requires class attendance and actual (although short) clinicals followed by a state exam.

While you may find much material over the internet to help you, most of the "internet nursing school" stuff is all expensive (and over-priced in my opinion) LPN to RN bridge programs, which is not what you are looking for.

Talk to others that are CNAs, an actual facility, or online to find an actual program. CNA is short ranging from 1 month to 1 semester depending on where you take it. Just bear with it for a short time, and CNA is yours.

EDIT:

As a nursing student, many let you do CNA work without the certificate.
