Just got hired!!! Question about pay...

Nursing Students CNA/MA

So my search seems like its over!! after a couple weeks of putting in applications I got offered a job at a LTC in South OC!:D:D The place seems pretty nice too, nicer than the facility I did my clinicals at!

My question is that they said the job pays $12 an hour which is more than I am making at my current job but I'm just wondering if this is good pay for the area?? Or should I keep looking for another job that might pay more?? Dont get me wrong I'm happy with this rate but just want to compare..

Also they didn't say anything about getting more pay for working at night or on the weekends like I've read on here that some people get.. do they always pay more for NOC shift or only some places?

This is my first CNA job with no experience so I'm assuming this pay rate is good??

I suggest you look at this thread and see if your area is anywhere on it:

It sounds like pretty amazing starting pay for a brand-new CNA. Most CNAs in my area do not make that much even with 3-4 years of experience. But, it may just be a regional thing. For all we know that may be rock-bottom for your area.

I haven't heard of facilities not paying differentials. Usually that is their big tool to convincing people to work the various shifts. If differential is very important to you, you should call and specifically ask if it is offered; then take that into account when considering accepting the job.

Congratulations on landing a job!

congrats i hope i land a job that fast!!!!!
