In Ohio thinking of STNA for part time job

Hi there! Glad I found this site. I am gainfully employees at my day job marketing/banking industry. But I want to get a part time job. I don't want retail or food service, I've been strongly thinking about STNA. I've been researching and reading everything I can get my hands on. I do enjoy elderly people. Seems like in my area there are lot's of help wanted's for STNA and I can get trained in about four weeks.

I'm wondering if anyone does this as a part time job and how it works out for you? Also anyone from Ohio--what school did you go to get your certification classes?

Any other advise or information you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Premier Choice Health Services in Columbus is a good place. You can take the class and the state test there.

Oh lol. I've never heard of that acronym.

Anyway, I dont like when people become a CNA for just a job. To really take care of all their needs you have to WANT to take the bad with with the good. You'll be changing adult diapers, cleaning up vomit, feeding someone who can't for themselves and a "thank you" will be hard to come by.

Can you commit to caring for your residents no matter what?
