How do you renew CNA? (NY)

I am a nursing student and my GF is a nrusing student as well with an expired CNA. She currently works for a private employer who may die at any moment and she is looking to renew her CNA as a back up.

She tells me she needs to take the written and practical tests again but I can not find any info on this, let alone where in NY she could take these exams.

Are you sure that information is for CNA? All of the links say nursing home aide. Is there a difference?

I would call to be sure, but CNA does stand for Certified Nurse Aide. I know that they threw in "Nursing Home" there, but if you click on the first link (which is the handbook that is published by the state, not Prometric) it just says "Certified Nurse Aide," plus there is also a link at the bottom to the NYS CNA registry. If nothing else, maybe you can find a number for someone to call in the first link.
