Difficulties getting hired @ hospital

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Published

I have been applying for CNA positions at a hospital & have submitted close to 30 resumes so far, but no interview. I am a nursing student and have worked in LTC for over a year, also have my BLS certification. Still no call-backs.

So I decided to start applying for whatever position I could get my hands on. Finally got a call back for a Dietary Aide position at a hospital about 20 mins away. Not a big hospital but it is in one of the big networks around here. Should I accept the position if it's offered with the hopes of transferring internally after 6 months/1 year?

Have you tried volunteering at the hospitals? Its how I got my foot in the door and ended up recently being hired as a CNA there. Good luck to you!
