Cna training almost done what next?

Ugh I'm so nervous I feel that these couple of weeks have gone by so fast. I had 4 days of class left and 6 for clinicals! Then we take the state exam. Truthfully I am so scared of the skills part! God willing everything goes well and I pass what happens next? I just throw cna training on my resume? And start applying for jobs? Do I search for jobs online or do I set a day aside to go drop off my resume personally? I'm in NYC btw.

Should i I be really worried about the skills part? There's 25 students in my class there were 30 to begin w and the class room is small I feel when the skills teacher is practicing the skill she does it only once and then we need to practice on our own time because their is only 2 beds in the room and not enough supplies.

Study hard and practice, practice, practice, practice (practice makes perfection). Take the State Exam and you will pass. Type "CNA Resume for Entry Level CNA" (if you're new) in Yahoo or Google and there are alot of good examples of resumes and letter heads. Complete and start sending them to numerous jobs. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Every state is different so I can't comment on yours specifically but FWIW out of 20 or so students in my class, only one didn't pass skills as far as I know. Everyone passed the written. My instructor was helpful enough to have an optional practice day on the last day of class that was staged like the exam and that was very helpful to let us know what to expect. If your instructor does similar, definitely take advantage of it! Clinical will also help you cement your skills. Run through things at home too, even if you're just talking it out.

On test day just take it slow. The 30 minutes or whatever it is is plenty of time to get through the skills. Check yourself and think "is my patient safe?" to avoid forgetting something like putting the bed down. Remember you can start over if you forget something as long as you have not said you're done with the skill.

You can practice at home! You can view video's online...there are lots of them.

Once you pass the exam you can begin your job search. Yes, put that you have passed the state exam on your resume. I would stop by nursing homes, etc and apply and only apply online if they specifically ask you too.

Try home care agencies,& assisted living too.

Thank you you much I really appreciate it. I was only worried because my skills teacher made it sound like we had to do everything perfectly and exactly how she says but my teacher lecture teacher confirmed today that you must know what you're doing which is obv but that it doesn't have to be how the skill teacher says it like the hand washing the skills teacher says wet up to wrist and then get in between fingers and the sides of the hands and scrub your finger tips 10 in the same direction vs the lecture teacher says you can scrub your finger tips up and down. That is just her way of teaching. Idk if you understand what I'm saying lol.

yes! I am always watching the videos online. I also got a cd that came w my textbook. And I understand what needs to be done. But like I mentioned in the comment above the skills teacher for a partial bed bath taught us to wrap the wash cloth around our 4 fingers like a mitten vs on youtube the na folded into what she called leaves which I find so much easier for my small hands.
