CNA to RN through Employer

Hi Everyone,

I've done a lot of research however am having trouble finding the answer. This site is a wealth of info however a lot of the threads are older.

I am a career changing professional. Nursing has so much promise I'm diving in head first. I'll have my C.N.A in about a month.

In in the perfect world I am looking for a employer anywhere in the country that takes their C.N.A's and provides the education to become a RN while working for them. I know there used to be Diploma programs but am having difficulty finding them.

Anyone know the Hospitals that offer the most in terms of employee education/advancement?

I want to work hard and earn my degree all from the same place preferably. Ideas?

A lot of the programs I have heard of are mostly tuition reimbursement. I used to work for Legacy Health in Oregon, and they had a variety of tuition reimbursement programs, mostly for nurses, but also for employees outside of the nursing field. They offered an Educational assistance program that covered two years of an accredited program after an employee worked full-time for a year, a Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program that would assist eligible RNs if they agree to work full-time for two years, and a Nursing Scholarship Program that pays for nursing school in exchange for two years of full-time work at facility with a nursing shortage.

Go to hospital websites and search for tuition. Healthcare is definitely a field that supports education.

I don't know of any state that will allow you to sit for the NCLEX rn without having graduated from an accreditated school of nursing--that's how you get an att. Without it, you do not get to take the exam

Diploma programs are all but none existent. Why not just apply for federal financial aid?

Employers do not pay you to go to school anyways. Then REIMBURSE you, which means you got to pay first and they pay you back ONLY if you pass the course. This comes with a lot of strings attached, mainly work for them for X number of years on contract.

I know this is old, but Bethesda hospital (there's a few of them) in the West Palm beach area is a hospital and they also have a school where you can get your r.n. I couldn't really access the website because I'm on a phone, but from what I've seen they offer no financial aid, but they offer tuition assistance for employees. I think the schools name is Bethesda college of nursing.

There is one Agency that works in many states that pay CNAS that want to become nurses tuition as long as you work for them . I have not heard of any Agency besides ,them that has this program ; If you like I can give you the name so you can find out if they are in your state .

Anyone know if I can post the name of the company in this thread ?

You still have to take all your nursing prerequisites go to nursing school and then take NCLEX no shortcuts .
