Hi everyone, I plan on starting a CNA class the beginning of next year, and I just wanted to know how the programs normally work, are they hard? just hoping you guys can share your experience on what to expect?

Also does anyone have any tips on how to pick a CNA school? I have not picked a school yet, still doing research.

thanks guys

I paid $1,200 for my course. Went 3 times a week for about 3 months give or take.

My school was very small and did what it needed to to get my CNA cert. I dont think employers mind where you got certified from. I would suggest volunteering during your CNA program however, to gain experience that can open your doors to employment. Not to mention my friend (w/ current BSN) got her CNA, then got trained at Emory Eastside in GA to be a PCT and got a her BSN tuition reimbursed for 2 years of work there after grad. Good Luck!

I didn't find CNA training hard. As for looking for a school: read reviews online and see if you can talk to prior students and/or attend info sessions on the school. I did this when I was looking for a school and it steered me away from a couple of schools that looked good on paper but would not have been a good fit for me. I went to the information session on the school I ultimately decided on and really "clicked" with their philosophy and their staff. Feeling comfortable with how the school was run decided for me that it was the correct program for me.

Piece of cake! Show up everyday and stay positive. .the hardest thing for me was manual blood pressure and sitting through the lectures.
