1. If a client returns to a nursing home after a hip replacement, should the cna expect the pt will need total dependent care or that the or will be on bed rest for sev. weeks.

I think the pt would be on bed rest.

2. A wife visits her husband at the nursing home. She slaps him. Should the cna tell her to leave or call report to RN?

i think she should ask him to leave.

3. If a dementia pt walks out of his room and tries to escape. Should you lock the exit doors or place stop signs on the door? (Not sure bout this one....I'd say stop signs)

1. Dependent care, probably. Not necessarily bed rest though.

2. Calmly ask the wife to step out and take a few breaths, and tell the RN/whatever supervisor you can.

3. Is this in a hospital? Many LTCs or dementia units have some sort of alarms or codes, etc. on outside doors already. Stop signs can work depending on the patient/resident.
