CNA or Not

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Published

Hello,

I am a pre nursing (RN) student andwas thinking about taking a CNA classes. The funny thing is all of the nursing schools programs I am looking at will not give me credit. I thought about getting a job as a CNA. The problem is that my current job pay me more then $15.00 an hour and because of this I am able to work part-time. I hate my job now but at the same time CNA only make half as much I make in hour. So I would have to work full-time and this might be not so good because I am starting my pre nursing school class this fall. What should I do?

Some things to think about...will your current job flex around school? Even when you begin the clinical component? If so, I would think heavily about keeping that one.

Don't get me wrong, being a CNA is awesome (I am one) and you will learn a LOT, but personally for me, part time work with full time school is a heavy load, I cannot imagine trying full time in both. Just my $0.02
