Nursing Students CNA/MA

I am a new CNA. it is a CNA job responsibility? because when I took CNA class I do not remember that my clinical instructor train their students to perform one. I did not know how to put one so I called the Practical Nurse to show it to me. it is very easy how to do it anyway and learning new thing is a good thing.

Lol I change them completely at work all of the time. The nurse just hands me the new bag. But I have experience and the pts aren't new

I know the OP probably knows the answer to her question by now, but I wanted to reiterate what SweetSouthernLove and RNsRWe said, in case future readers search for similar questions. Always make sure you are doing what is allowed by your state board or health department. I don't know about other states, but in Ohio and West Virginia (CNA/STNA regulated under the Health Departments) emptying a colostomy bag is the only thing we are allowed to do. Any changes are required to be completed by a licensed nurse. Always check with the appropriate resources if what you are being asked to do is questionable.

Both cleaning and changing are in our scope in nh
