Life after Chamberlain??

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Hello all, this is my first post! I currently have my ADN from College of Dupage (loved it!) and have been working as an RN for over a year now. It's time for me to get my BSN. I am considering going to Chamberlain, but have some concerns. I know that it is accredited, but is it reputable? Will I get into a Masters Program at Rush with a degree from Chamberlain? I know that Chamberlain's parent company is Devry, so I feel I may just be "buying" my degree. I'm sorry if this sounds naive, but would love your input if you have completed the Chamberlain RN to BSN program and have moved onto a Masters program elsewhere. Thank you soooo much!!

Although it is true that Devry is currently Chamberlain's parent company. The history of Chamberlain is a long one, devry has only owned them for about 5 yrs now. The school started out in St. Louis as Deaconess college of nursing, it later expanded into a distance learning school that Devry eventually bought. They have a good reputation in the St. Louis area, and the school has been around for 100+ years. :)

So the question was "can I get my BSN from Chamberlain and go onto Rush for my master's?"

Yes, or any other school. Is it looked highly upon? I just haven't heard much about people continuing their education after Chamberlain. Thank you.

Hi Kristina! I work at Chamberlain. I can tell you that the RN-BSN curriculum is designed with a focus on preparing a student to pursue advanced degrees. We’ve had many RN-BSN students go on to complete their MSN at a variety of schools, including Rush University. In fact, many Chicago-area hospitals and healthcare institutions have partnered with Chamberlain so their RNs can pursue their BSN with Chamberlain (including Rush Oak Park Hospital). You can view the list of our healthcare partners at www.chamberlain.edu/healthcarepartners.

If you’re interested, you can see some RN-BSN student testimonials on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/chamberlainedu or on YouTube at www.youtube.com/chamberlaincollege.

Hi Kristina!

Did you decide to try Chamberlain? Just curious, I am trying to get into MVCC for my RN but I am checking up on all the nursing programs in the area just incase. If you do go, please keep us updated on your experience!

Much Love
