Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Hello All,

I am starting a thread for those applying to Chamberlain for the class that starts May 2017. What does your GPA and HESI scores look like?? I have a 3.72 GPA and will be taking the HESI for the first time tomorrow morning. I am a little nervous on what to expect.

Hi all,

I am working with a counselor right now on possible May admission. She mentioned that one aspect they take into account is your "recent" academic history and is currently looking into that. I assume she mentioned this because I had taken classes years ago for a previous degree and so my transcripts are lengthy. Just wondering if anyone has anything to share on this and/or how "recent" the counselor was able to use.

Thank you and congrats on everyone who is trying or has made it into a program- such an accomplishment :-)

Hi!!! I also am applying for May 2017! I have a 3.3 GPA and scored a 94.5 on the HESI... has anyone been accepted yet? I know they had one comittee meeting on the 5th...

I had a few classes from back in 2008 that I had withdrawn from. Katharine had said they focus more on your most recent college classes, but they do require you to submit all transcripts. She said if they have any concerns or questions about your previous transcripts or college classes, you would have a chance to explain your reasoning for lapse in education time/previous uncompleted course work etc. I hope that helps! Good luck to you!

Hi everyone! Hopefully we all hear by Friday! I am currently on my last A&P class at ARC and so anxious to start a BSN program. I was able to get all my paperwork in on time for the first committee meeting, but due to a small hiccup (their copy machine apparently ate one of my transcript pages which in turn led to chaos) I am waiting until the 17th like the rest of you! I am currently at an overall college GPA of, I believe, 3.69 and only got an 86 on my HESI A2. Hopefully we all hear by Friday, waiting until next Monday is going to be torture! I would LOVE to start a BSN program in May! Good luck everyone!

Hey everyone! I am a current student at Chamberlain, I got was accepted in the Fall 2016 cohort. Just reaching out to my possible classmates :D. If you have any questions on the experience so far, I'll try my best to answer! We nursing students gotta stick together!

:D not sure if I have seen you on campus yet but I will as well be bugging you with questions lol

What classes are you guys starting this upcoming session? How was Health and Wellness? Any tips? :)

I will actually be taking health and wellness with you guys :bookworm:it was okay, you just have to really pay attention to every subject she talks about in class. Majority of what is important will be explained. However, it is still best to do all of the reading. What I found worked best is to try and see the situation from 2 different perspectives; as a nurse and if you were asking advice from someone personal to you. That way, you can see from both a professional and personal perspective. It's a little difficult to explain, but I'm sure you'll catch on quickly :) I'll see you in class next tuesday!

I just got the call that I did not get accepted. I'm pretty frustrated and wish I could have a better reason as to why (my advisor said she doesn't know). I just keep telling myself everything happens for a reason and my first school was/is Sierra anyways, but I have to wait to finish this last A&P class, which means I'm off to take the TEAs and can't apply till fall.... hopefully I have better luck with the JC's as my nursing school classes that they pull their GPA from are much better than my accumulative GPA. Good luck to everyone else! I don't plan on reapplying to Chamberlain, but maybe we will meet working as nurses someday!

Hey All, I got the call this morning that I was accepted for the May 2017 start date. Good luck to everyone else waiting to hear back!

Hi guys!!! I got the call today as well! I'm #31... so I am for sure in for September but possibly May. I think what really helped me was my HESI and my personal essay!!! Congrats to everyone who got in too!!

Yay!!! I'm meeting with financial aid Wednesday :///

Hey Svergar2,

Have you started your clinicals yet? If not, do you know anyone that has and what hospitals they are at?
