Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Has anyone attended or is currently attending Chamberlain College of Nursing in Atlanta? If so, how is it? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am currently attending a technical college and have done all of my pre requisites except for the sciences. My gpa is 3.40. I just found out about this school and I am very interested... thanks.

Prettyplay24 and what exactly does the email say that they send. I've been told that there is an email that will come first. Thx for responding!! :)

Would I be crazy to take 224 and 302 lectures online, same section?

How are you all doing this semester? I'm applying for January. Crossing my fingers that I can start!! I work nights part time at the hospital as a pct. Is that do-able while in the program? What do you all think?

holy crappola!!! wow!! Thanks for the explanation--even though I wish it weren't so! Ehhh....I don't think I can swing that at all...I have three little boys and am a single mother with a almost 20k in loans for the past two years! I am looking at 5k max a semester at KSU so far and with 5-6 to go at the very most....Worst case scenario I am looking at 30k in debt if I didn't even a cent of help from pell...which I will...but I depend on my staffords to help with books travel expenses and other costs related to my school. I am rebuilding my life and all of these costs stacking up feel overwhelming!!! :nailbiting::drowning:[/quote']

I am in the same boat.... When are you looking to start January or May???? I'll be at open house tomorrow.... I know it's expensive but I'm going to have to do doubles on the weekends or just take out the loans :( it is overwhelming but I've been an LPN for almost 7 years n that BSN is a big deal!!!! Definitely more opportunities. N I owe it to my 3 little ones. I refuse to let them see me give up. Good luck luv

Hello,

I am meeting with admissions tomorrow to start in January, and I was wondering if anyone knew how many days a week it would be? I am currently an LPN, so I know I have a semester less. Thanks!

Im set for January, but one thing is bothering me is that chamberlain wants me pay 50% of tuition before i choose my classes, however they are lazy to update and transfer my credits from GGC. Anybody has the same problem?

You can choose Mon and Wed classes only from 8 am to 1 pm for an example, 2 days a week is good

It is not impossible to take 224 and 302 in the same session. I did those two in addition to 281 (on campus albeit) and it was do-able. These are not easy classes though, so be prepared to read a lot. Make sure you use the practice tests to your benefit too. You will still have to attend labs on campus. That can get confusing and tricky if you are not careful and end up with a professor who's style may not be the best for you.

sthornton84: The days of the week for attendance vary depending on which courses you are taking. It might be just two days a week, or could be three days a week if you have clinicals. Online classes are a nice option to supplement campus courses if time constraints are an issue for you. There is some flexibility with scheduling too. For instance you may elect to take a lecture and lab in the same day for the same course. However, this is not an option for all courses and can change from session to session.

Example: I am taking 226, 304 and 282 this session. I have my onsite 226 clinicals on Mondays from 3P-11P. I have 226 lecture on Tuesday from 8A-12:30P. Then I have 304 lab on Thursdays from 11A-1P, and 304 lecture on Thursdays from 2P-5P. I have supplemented that with 282 online. 226 and 304 were only offered on Tuesday and Thursday this session. You do not have a choice in the day of the week for your clinical site lab.

I hope that helps explain it.

Hey Everyone...

I was academically accepted for the January 6, 2014 class. What am I to expect in the meeting about financial aid meeting as well as the background/drug test meeting? How is the background check initiated? Also, I'm not going to pull out loans, but I scored a 94.6% on the assessment exam, has anyone on here been offered any scholarships or are they hard to come by?

Lastly, I saw someone posted on here that you have to pay for 50% of the tuition up front. Is this true?

Thanks!
