Rumor has it that Florida Gulf Coast U. is in jeopardy of losing it's accreditation next april. My source says in addtion to that, they have decided not to admit a fall 2003 class. Anyone hear anything different? Are there even many of you out there in/around FL??

Hi Matt,

I live here in Bradenton (btwn Sarasota and St. Petersburg). Have you looked into USF? They have a lot of different campuses.

matt-

i just recieved an email and letter from Paula M. Dumas, MEd

Director of Graduate Admission of fgcu. she states in the letter and email that they are extending the app. deadline from november 1st to january 3, 2003. then they will be calling for interviews.

whether they are in jeopardy, i'm not sure. i know they recieved enough app. b/c the email was sent to over 100 people.

i know same thing happened last year to fiu in that they extended their app. deadline.

I've heard from a CRNA last night that the UT-memphis program looks to be going down the drain here pretty soon.

They won't lose their accreditation (although some think they should). One of the program directors sits on the accreditation council board.

I have heard several reports on fgcu and to be honest........I was told to avoid that program due to their struggles. Its in a great location in Fort Myers, FL. Nice and warm for those AMs where you have to wake up at 0500.

Wow! Lucky! I have to wake up at 0400 to make it to clinicals by 6. Put IVs in (low man on the totem pole) until 0630, draw up meds and figure fluids, do a machine check , interview the patient and start pre op meds before 0730.

are there any new CRNA programs in florida?
