CCM EXam, Questions and Tips

Published

 I'm going to be taking the CCM Exam for the first time this Fall, and would like to hear from those who have taken it; i.e. what study materials (if any), did you find useful, and which areas of the test were the hardest? Thanks!:wink2:
there were quite of lot of cultural based questions and alot of psychosocial. There was hardly anything on Medicare/Medicaid ( which I studied a heck of a lot of).

I agree with you! I studied so much about medicaid/medicare. Also I studied a lot of who pays first and secondary insurance, the birthday rule, custody etc. I didn't see anything about that!

I received an e-mail and the results of the exam won't be in until mid-January. I guess they have to wait until all of the exams are taken. :wink2:

It's officially mid-January today and still no results! :banghead: This waiting is killing me! I'm scheduled to take the COHN-S exam on 1/17/09 and would feel much better going into it knowing if I had passed the CCM exam. Oh well, I guess I just have to learn to have some patience! :chuckle

I'm right there with you! Everyone at work keeps asking me about the results and it's driving me crazy! I don't understand why it's so hard to grade. I have my COHN-S, and I feel the same as I did when I took that test...I have no idea how I did!

I finally got my results on Friday; I passed:yeah:

Congratulations clayoub

I passed! Yeah

Congratulations!

Will everyone please share what you used to study most recently to pass the exam?

Thanks everyone,

I had a lot of psych questions, and I'm an old state hospital psych nurse, so that really helped, along with my recent experience doing acute care hospital case management. As far as text, I used Case Managers Study Guide by Fattorusso. Seems like VERY few questions were in the book that were in the test. I could have passed soley from my long ago psych experience and effective communication techniques we are all taught as nurses. Should have saved the $$$ and just taken the test.

Thank you for the information. I appreciate it. :)

I passed as well!!!!:yeah: Relief!!!!
