Survived my first float to a new unit!!

I am a fairly new nurse...graduated with my BSN last May. I work on an interventional cardiology floor and I am (finally) starting to feel comfortable and confident as a nurse.

Today I was floated to a transplant floor. I was SO scared! All those meds the transplant patients are on! It is crazy. I even had to do a residual urine bladder scan...almost laughable to a cardiac nurse! Luckily the staff there was wonderful to me.

What are some of y'all stories about being floated to different units??

I floated practically every day (sometimes twice in one day) for 5 months until I quit that stupid hospital. After 3 months, a new employee shouldn't have to float anymore. :chair:
