Cardiac Telemetry

I just received an awesome oppurtunity to start my first nursing job as a cardiac telemetry nurse what is it like

Tele is a great place to start! No matter what floor you end up on everyone has a pulse (we hope!) and the majority of patients are on some sort of cardiac medication, so it's great to learn cardiac stuff early on! We have a 5-1 ratio, with 6/7 (sometimes 8)-1 on nights with step down patients.... very overwhelming sometimes!

Read a lot about cardiac anatomy, EKG's, rhythms, meds, and diagnostic tests, good luck!
