DOUGLAS RN 2018

World Canada CA Programs

Hello people, I finished my requirements in fall 2015. I applied for fall 2017 and unfortunately I was shortlisted twice! Today I received my acceptance for winter 2018 and have until March to pay my deposit. This whole journey has left me pretty humbled.. I realized I will work even harder for my GPA to be higher going into my second year.. English 1130 brought me down and I will strive to keep my GPA higher than 3.0. The most likely reason I probably did not enter fall 2017 as my GPA was under the cut off of 2.9, now I am happy to say I will be going into the nursing program in Jan 2018. Would love to hear who else is in.. we are going to be together for the next three year's people!

Hello there! I am a student trying to get into the Douglas pre nursing program! Im currently at SFU taking some of the transferable pre rec courses for Douglas nursing as I only decided I wanted to go into nursing after I was accepted into sfu but I am hoping to transfer over to the Douglas pre nursing program winter 2018 to finish up. Right now I have completed both an English and a humanities course with a 85-90% in both of them. However I am about to fail the statistics pre rec as I have never in my life taken a stats course and I am terrible at math... It says on the site that you can take a course up to 2x to get the required grade and I was just curious if anyone else failed and of the courses and had to re take them? I'm also wondering how hard it is to get into the pre nursing program as my high school gap was about 86% for the courses required. Does anyone have any advice or know if I have a chance of getting in so I can transfer? Im terrible at understanding applications and all that so anything helps!

Thank you!!!

Hi hannabell9,

I am in the nursing program at Douglas, and during my prerequisites I had to take stats again, there are quite a few people in the program who have had to take one course twice so try not to stress about it too much. I would just apply and set up an appointment with a counselor they were very helpful in getting into foundations and the nursing program. Best of luck!

Thank you so much! I will make an appointment!
