DOUGLAS RN 2018

Published

Hello people, I finished my requirements in fall 2015. I applied for fall 2017 and unfortunately I was shortlisted twice! Today I received my acceptance for winter 2018 and have until March to pay my deposit. This whole journey has left me pretty humbled.. I realized I will work even harder for my GPA to be higher going into my second year.. English 1130 brought me down and I will strive to keep my GPA higher than 3.0. The most likely reason I probably did not enter fall 2017 as my GPA was under the cut off of 2.9, now I am happy to say I will be going into the nursing program in Jan 2018. Would love to hear who else is in.. we are going to be together for the next three year's people!

Hi

My gpa was about 3.0 for the required courses!

Just curios what semester did you finish your pre reqs?

Hi

I finished in fall 2015.

Has anybody received more information about form submissions for W2018? In the approval email I received I was told they will be in contact with me in early spring, but i have a friend who got into the Psych Nurse W2018 and she has already been asked to

submit immunizations and other things.. also.. are we completely done with Porth Parho textbook? It seems odd not doing any more bio other than pharmacology. Every other program does some every semester.

Hi

I was told that they would contact me early spring,

but nothing yet..

Anyone got any info on it??

Thanks

Hi Awozney, I am in the nursing program at douglas college. You should definitely keep patho text book it helps a lot. You don't take any bio courses specifically but in your arts and science course each semester you will be expected to know things from patho and previous biology courses as you are tested on it in a nursing context. I hope that helps! I had a gap from when I finished my pre req's to when I started and I was thankful for my previous notes and patho text book to help me remember because you build on it. Best of luck to you and everyone applying!

just wondering has anyone heard anything back about the CPR and stuff that we need to do after the deposit ?

No email yet.

If anyone heard anything back please let me know because they said in July that they will email us..

It's already middle of July and nothing yet.

Thanks

Hi!

I am starting the Pnur program at Douglas this Fall and I didn't receive my welcome letter with all the pre-clinical requirements until June. So if it is anything like my scenario you might have a bit longer to wait.

Hey Everyone!

I received an email indicating other prerequisites and am getting ready to begin review. How is everyone preparing? I was thinking of purchasing an intro to pharmacology book or doing an online course.. has anybody heard anything on them or found a book that seems useful?

HI!!

I also received the email and getting the medical forms and things done! I thought all the courses were finished through the nursing program.. Are there any courses that we can take online? Let me know!

Also in the welcome letter the date for the orientation is Jan 11/12..anyone know when we actually start the semester?? And does the semester run through summer or continue in September? ?

Thank you
