After getting rejected to my school of choice for this Fall, I can honestly say that this summer has been the most stressful of my life. I've been depressed and quite demotivated by the whole experience.
But as summer dragged on, I was able to pull myself from out under the blanket of depression and take initiative by applying to classes that would raise my grade and overall GPA. I'll be taking a shot in the dark by applying to Grossmont Community College for the Spring of 2013 and a bunch of other ADN and BSN programs for the Fall of 2014.
I'm just a little worried about my low GPA and how hard everyone is making admittance even into the local community colleges here in California seem like a very hard task.
I've got a cumulative GPA of 3.43 and a prereq GPA of about 3.5. According to the following multi-point system, I will score a total of 70 points after adding in the volunteer work I've done at local hospitals.

I read somewhere on here that someone managed to get in at around the mid-80s and I've become really concerned with not being able to make it. I will be starting a CNA program this fall and they'll grant my 5 extra points, but even then, no where near mid 80's.
I know that I can graduate from Nursing school, someone just needs to let me in... I do not want to move from here, my family's in a situation where I can't bring myself to up and leave.
I'm not sure what to do or what I can do. I wished I didn't mess up my first year of college, things would be so much easier.... I was thinking about becoming an LVN for even more points, but I'm not sure where to start on that. Do they offer LVN programs cheap, and if so, where can I find information about it...? I am really confused about everything right now. If anyone can help me at all, I would be eternally grateful....
Thank you so much.
