Help! Failed last 2 tests...
Thank your your feedback. I feel like I am generally prepared, but the questions are so buried among distractors and i am not real good yet on picking out the actual question. It is so daunting that I have to get 80% on the final in order to pass. I have my final on Wednesday and I am studying my tail off this weekend, monday and Tuesday. I have done Nclex questions and do generally well on them. This last final is 66% endocrine, nutrition, cancer/emerengcies and HIV. The other 35% is renal, liver, f/e, diabetes and a few math. I am really hoping to pull this off, but am very aware of the fact that it might not happen. i am bummed, but at this point, there is really nothing I can do. If I put in 100%, then it is what it is. Keep me in good thoughts!

Help! Failed last 2 tests...
Help!! I have failed my last two tests (f/e and dm and the other was renal and liver disease). I went into the test feeling comfortable about the material. I did PrepU, nclex questions, reviewed powerpoint, streamlined info, etc. And failed. I am am not sure what I am doing wrong. I have to get an 83% on next test to pass the class or I am done for the semester and cannot return until August:( this just devastates me! My next test is 3/18. Help!! Nancy

I called the school and they said you may wear regular clothes. So, I will probably be wearing nice jeans or capris and a cute short sleeve shirt and I love my flip flops. I would probably wear layers, as it is supposed to be warm outside, which means they will probably be putting on the AC on to control the heat and the extra bodies. I would also dress comfortable, as we have no idea how long we will be sitting and listening and how much walking we may do if they want to give us a tour of the school/health science building. Just dress as though you would be proud of what you look like if you were to meet the dean or teachers. Show that you care about your image. I can't wait! This day has been a long time coming for me, I can't believe it is finally here! See you on Friday!

how to land a hospital job
Volunteering at the hospital is the best way to get to know the managers. I worked on a neuro/trauma floor for 4 months and applied for an open position there and followed up with the manager. Because she knew my face and my work ethic, I got hired with no prior experience, just my license and knowledge and desire to my job right. Good luck. It is possible to get a hospital job, but it really is a who you know environment. There are 1000s of people applying and you usually have to get past the HR reps which is hard. Don't give up!

You can do everything but the drug/background part, uniform ordering and sign up for classes. I have CPR and vaccination and am ordering some books this weekend. Be sure to sign up for Amazon student. Good discounts and free shipping for 6 mos and then it's $35/yr.

I will be attending in the Spring too. They just started Fall 2013 so you can see their classes. If you look in the nursing student handbook online you can see an outline of how classes go. It's pharmacology and fundamentals first and doseage calculations. At least it was that way last year and generally you go in numerical order for classes 118 and 120. I not an expert and I do not know this 100% but I have been researching this program for the last year. I want to be as prepared as possible!

I am not sure what tge schedule will be like, but you can go on the school website and look at web advisor class schedule and look up NURS 118 through 120 and see what it is for Fall. I would imagine we would follow the same schedule. Congrats in getting in!! I am all for a Facebook page.

Congrats!! I would say, start working on pharmacology. You can go on Grossmont's Website and look at the online bookstore. Look at the books for NURS 118 and NURS 120 (these are the first two classes and are taken simultaneously). You can get a jump on buying the pharmacology books (NURS 118) and the fundamentals it says wait, but there is a host of other books you will need. Might help with costs down the road. I have a Pharmacology flashcard set that I have kind of started carrying around with me and looking at it when I have time. I was also told about the Davis Q&A fundamentals. I think it is $50. It is at Barnes and Noble (as well as other places). It will get you used to NCLEX type questioning. I believe anything you can study beforehand will give you a heads up and a jump. It is going to be so overwhelming and if you have a little understanding, it will be easier:) Nancy

Really depressed and need advice. I feel I will NEVER get into a RN program!
I got into Grossmont ASN Program for Spring 2014. I start in January. Make sure you look at their website, as they are always adding new requirements. Good luck!
