I'm not usually the type to forage through online forums, but what can I say - grad school apps are stressing me out! This should get the ball rolling...

Alyssa, I was number 20 on the WL, so not holding out much hope. Pretty much focusing on the other schools now. I really liked this program and was torn between here and Western, but I guess my decision has been made for me. Hopefully I get better news from Western.

Hey Marisa, you never know. One year they went to 24 so you just never know. I applied to Western also, so waiting to hear back from them too. I'm torn because I like their program too, but I don't like how they changed it so now they don't have the FNP program until after you graduate with a masters in the other programs.

where in Texas!? I've been in Houston since graduating college but I'm originally from Fresno. Have a safe trip![/quote']

I'm in Dallas. It's cold here! Definitely not the Cali weather I'm used too. My aunt used to live in Fresno & we would visit all of the time growing up :-) Thanks & welcome back to Cali lolol!!!

what do you mean we don't have an fnp until after we graduate? If you can elaborate on this that would be wonderful!!!

I was talking about a different program, Western University of Health Science, not SMU.

She had said that she'd hate for me to do a program that is not as recognize as some of the more highly recognized ones like USF and SF State. Actually the NP and the PA that I work for both said the same thing, that SMU program is not that impressive, hard as it may be to get in. The NP said the quality of the programs are simply better at USF and SF state. However she does realize that hospitals and other work places won't care where u graduate from really.

Hmmmm interesting Cyn, so does that mean you aren't going to accept the offer? What other places did you apply?

That is interesting to read that they've gone through 24 on the WL in previous years. How did you go about learning this fact? This is a huge encouragement to those of us who have been wait listed.

Nah, I am still going to accept the offer, its just that I have heard the same kind of comments from several providers, so it does make one wonder. I also applied to USF, couldn't apply to SF state since they suspended application process for 2013 and will resume 2014. I am still waiting to hear from USF.

@yay the director told us at our interview that one year they went through 24 people on the waitlist. What number are you on the waitlist?

@Cyn I applied to USF too. We should here back in 2 or 3 weeks!!!!

alyssa, omg I hope that we don't have to wait longer then 2-3 weeks from USF, cuz since I have submitted app back in feb, i haven't heard a single thing from them. Have you heard anything from USF saying they will notify us soon? Do you know which school you are going to end up picking if you get into both?

Hey Cyn, there is a thread about USF. Here is the link so we can talk about USF on that one haha
